These lecture notes have been prepared to accompany my straw bale lecture to the MSc students at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth, Wales in May 2011.

 

There are many variables in the field of straw bale building. In these notes I aim to introduce many facets, discussing some of their relative advantages and disadvantages and providing links for further research.

 

I will return to these notes periodically to update the discussion and links. Straw bale building is constantly evolving!
